Pigeon Red Checkboard

The Pigeon Checkerboard is a variety created by selective breeding between Pigeon Blood Discus and Checkerboard strains, resulting in a fish with:

• Body with a checkerboard pattern formed by white lines or streaks over red, orange, or even yellow tones.
• Head usually golden or beige in red varieties.
• Absence of vertical stress bars — completely eliminated through selection.
• Round, high body shape, typical of show-quality Discus.

Depending on the lineage, you can find Red Checkerboard, Orange Checkerboard, Golden Checkerboard, Yellow Pigeon Checkerboard and many more.
